Cutting for Stone is the title of a book I read recently. To be honest, it started off pretty plain and described the background of each character too detailed to my likings. However, I did not stop reading. And I'm glad of it.
It's a big book that tells the life stories of many characters who crossed the paths of each other in all different ways at different environments across two generations. Genre of The Kite Runner but I like this book more. Perhaps I still couldn't get out of the book and hence my fondness for it at this moment. The author, Abraham Verghese, is too cruel though. Absolutely heart-rending.( I actually prefer it to be less tragic at one point).
